I am new to windows 8.1. I have a Lenovo Yoga 2.

I want to be able to read web pages that I have saved as "favorites", online, while I am offline. I will not have access for a week and would love to read articles, pages that I have saved.

Can someone tell me how to do this step by step?

Thank you so much in advance!

Hey mate,

You can save the webpage; it worked for me when I was offline:

Go to the web page in Internet explorer, click on Tools (the cog wheel), select file, then Save as...
You can save the page to the desktop, a folder you've created, downloads, or anywhere really. Then you'll have a list of pages that you can view later on.

Thanks Dusty. I tried that but it saved the document in all code, not all the words of the web page that I wanted to read. What am I doing wrong?

Did it really? I wonder if you have some sort of extra protections going.
Some thoughts:
1. Try resetting IE settings to default - tools>Internet Options>Advanced (Tab)>Reset...
2. Is your antivirus blocking any part of your browser? Defender wont do this, but you might have some add-ons from another antivirus if installed, such as Avast! that do have such add-ons
3. Have you subscribed to any Tracking Protection lists? Found under Tools>Manage add-ons>Tracking Protection
4. Try another website. Google.com worked for me, give it a shot. It may be the particular webpage you're using. Let me know if this is the issue, as I'd be curious to know. I've not come across the code issue myself, though when I am connected to the internet, I've noticed that opening the page can take a little while to display, for some reason.
5. Make sure that you have the latest updates installed from windows update, especially if they have to do with IE

Thanks Dusty. I tried that but it saved the document in all code, not all the words of the web page that I wanted to read. What am I doing wrong?

In your Save as dialogue make sure you have Web Page Complete HTML selected. It will save the code in a file and all the graphics and style files inside a folder with the same name as the file. Don't click on Edit to open the file, you will only see code. Click on Open and it will open the file in your browser and load all the graphics and everything so you can view it.

If you just want the text, then change the Save AS Dialogue drop-down to text. It will save some code, but most will be stripped out and just the text will remain. It won't be formatted too nicely, but it's there.

The other option is to change the Save As dialogue to Web Archive, Single File. Then it doesn't create the directory with all the graphics and stuff. It is in a condensed file that can only be opened decently by your browser. If you just want to read the page later, then the is the most efficient way to store it.

Tried "Save as .MHT" ? Saves complete page in one file except for some parts not linked or left on Server Side.

If you want to use FirefOx, there's an Add-on called "Save as MHT" than it can make and read it too.
