This may help someone having problems opening some webpage links in Chrome browser.
I was having problems with opening links on some random websites. I would click on a link on the webpage and it didn't do anything. I'm using the latest Chrome browser, Version 37.0.2062.120. The problem occurred on two different Dell laptops, one running Windows 7 and one running Windows 8.1. This was only at a few websites, mainly TV station or Newspaper sites. When I right clicked and selected "Open Link In New Tab" that would work and open the link.
I found that my Ad Blocking app was causing this. I am currently using AdGuard, but the problem also occured with Adblock. When I temporarily disabled the Ad Blocking software app, the webpage links worked. Don't know of another solution, but disabling the ad blocking app for the website having the problem fixed the issue.
