IE 10 & hotmail issues

Over the past few days I've encountered some technical issues with Internet Explorer 10 and I was hoping that somebody may be able to shed some light on what may be going on.

I reformatted my PC (Win 8) two days ago due to what I thought was a virus. Prior to reformatting I was constantly experiencing the following issues:
-When using IE a message window would appear with the comment "internet explorer has stopped working"

-when using Hotmail, specifically when booting the computer in the morning I noticed that when reading my first email the window will turn white (completely blank) as if refreshing itself, the email list would reappear for a moment and then the email I was reading would reload.

-regarding emails in Hotmail. A window appears at random with the message "do you want to stay on this page or leave?".

Having had these issue becoming more frequent I was starting to believe a virus infected my system. I reformatted (clean install) two days ago and to my surprise the same issues continue. I don't know if this is a system problem or if it has something to do with Windows 8 or any other technical problem but in any case, I'm a little frustrated trying to understand why this is happening. Perhaps it is one of the joys of using Win 8 and therefore I'm posting this thread to see if anybody else may be experiencing something similar with their own PC?

Any thoughts or suggestions will be appreciated.

Thank you.

Hi Nuccii

I just checked and I have IE 10. It should be noted that I installed all of the latest updates but clearly this one didn't install.
From your experience, is IE 11 stable?

Thanks

Hi there.

Windows 8 has IE10. 8.1 has IE11. You cannot install IE11 on 8.

Press Tools gear (Alt/X) > Internet options > Advanced tab > Reset

Hi Hippie
Yes, I understand that IE11 requires Win 8.1 I've been hearing from people that 8.1 is annoying. What do you think of it compared to version 8.0? I'd like to get some input before I upgrade.

Thanks
