Browser not going back to search page in google after…

It doesn't matter if it's IE 11 or Slim Browser. Once I select the image of anything and click the view image button, it goes to the page that shows the large image and will not go back to the search page. No matter how many times I press the back arrow or press the backspace button.

The only way I can go back to the original image search page, is by pressing the back arrow for about 10 seconds and selecting the search ex: fish - Google Search

I've restored IE settings to original and it didn't help.
Any help is appreciated because this is driving me nuts.
    Thanks— Ron

I wish I had a better way of describing this problem. The other computer still works normal.

    Hi pcRat,
What happens when you try Alt+Left arrow key combination?

Alt+Left Arrow doesn't work either. Sometimes going back works normal then all of a sudden it gets quirky.
I exchanged RAM with another pc but that didn't help.

if you click and hold on the back button do you see a few ad redirects and then your original page under them

if so I have had this in the past, I don't know a way of fixing it, it's googles ads causing it, it just eventually goes right again

press and hold back button, then select your original page
