good old right click on a document, send to Mail Recipient..

how can i get this to work in desktop area of windows 8.1 computer.

I have the email client for live.com working in the tiles area of windows 8.1, but i usually always drop down to desktop to work. after all these years doing it that way its just familiar to me..

i know i can open a web mail interface and attach a file but its so much quicker going the right click way.

i didn't realize how often i am looking at the file and sending to mail that way.

any help would be appreciated.

The easiest way is to install Windows Live Mail and set up with your email account(s) then you can right click on the document/picture/music etc... and select sendto.
Here's an example, I selected 3 documents: a text file, an image and a word document then right click->Sendto. Windows live mail will open with these 3 as attachments.

In addition, If you've already have the email opened, you can also drag and drop your documents into the programs as attachments.

HALLELUJAH !!!! It worked..

A nice concise explanation and fix.. I've been struggling with this for two weeks.. Ever since I received my new laptop with Windows 8.1 on it.. I was ready to format the drive with Windows 7. I was REALLY missing that send to option...

THANK YOU !!!
