I saw this and checked my Firefox v30 about:config settings and was interested to see that even though I have gpu hardware acceleration turned on in the browser, Direct Write font support is turned off by default.
How to Enable Direct2D & DirectWrite Hardware Acceleration in Mozilla Firefox? - AskVG
This is very easy to do and I'm interested to see if this will make a difference in the occasional fuzzy fonts I see from time-to-time while browsing in Firefox under Win8.

- Had a brain amputation followed up by an all-lobe "clean-up" lobotomy last year, am doing fine. Life is so much simpler, now.
