pop-ups, task bar.

    pop-ups, task bar.

this should be easy. i'm getting pop-ups like crazy. more than I've ever had before. some things asking if I want to upgrade when I know it is fake and I don't need the update. so how do I fix the thing to keep the pop-ups down.

and I know how to set up the taskbar to hide itself, but now it will not do it. the task bar comes down and stays there and will not move.

    Hello commander,

Posting a screenshot showing these pop-ups may be able to help ID what they're from.

Ok, so from that link you mean pop-ups in your web browser (ex: Internet Explorer) then?

If so, then I'd stop going to the site that is giving them to you.

You could also press F11 in your web browser to toggle full screen to hide the taskbar.

In addition if it is not a specific site you could download and run ADWcleaner

For the taskbar staying hidden is the problem in only some full screen programs? This may explain it Taskbar auto-hide - Windows 7 Help Forums

I'm guessing you are using Internet Explorer as you listed as your Browser.
Open Internet Options, go to Advanced tab and click on 'Reset...' then 'Apply' and 'OK'
The default settings are efficient for blocking that kind of content.

Also, enable 'Smart Screen Filtering' in 'Safety'.

    See post #5.
Use the cleaner to remove the junk.

If that doesn't work, here is another free one that I found to work good:

I'd also check to see if you have any malicious toolbars or add-ons installed in Internet Explorer, and uninstall or disable them.

Resetting Internet Explorer would be a quick way to disable all of them at once.
