You are not alone. I use IE11 for everything except Youtube and my banking. YouTube works better for me on Chrome and my online banking doesn't work with IE11 at all. Because Google owns Youtube perhaps? Seems a bit unlikely but you never know.

Same here. I find IE11 to be a fast and reliable browser; although using Maxthon for forums browsing, I'll switch to IE11 to use YouTube. When Flash is disabled it automatically uses HTML5 for streaming video. No delays due buffering, no freezing, just smooth video streaming.

I've always rolled like that Kari = flash disabled until a video insists on it ;)
Not too many do that I've run across but it's always good to test issues like that,
Video controls are a little flaky using html5 but not a biggie,
Cheers.

@All,
You really don't need to use the html5 preference for youtube you might just be adding more issues than help ;)

I have zero issues with IE11 with loading youtube videos either.

-Do you have hardware acceleration turned on?
-try turning off Enable Enhanced Protected Mode(under tools/options/advance)
-make sure your flash player is 100% up to date
-you may even want to attempt to uninstall your flash player(s) and reinstalling them.

There are very few reasons as to why your videos should be buffering if you have a good connection to the internet.

I'm sure there are some "cheap fixes" out there that would maybe affect it a tad but the actual reason should be found instead of trying to patch over it.
