Importing from Outlook to Windows Live

With the help of Google I managed to import my contacts, but I can't seem to find anything useful for importing email from Outlook to Live. For some reason Roadrunner and Outlook don't work well. I like Live better anyway. I don't have many emails to import but is it possible to import a whole folder? Or do you have to import one at a time. If so, how?

You can have multiple mail accounts in Windows Live. Just create another mail account for outlook, it will download all your emails to your PC automatically.

I got this far. Now what?

Now just put in the outlook email and password and windows mail will do the rest.

I don't have a pw for Outlook, it came with Office and the email is the same roadrunner address.

I though all Windows Live programs were renamed and now the set is called windows essentials.

Yes, it is, but I chose to download only the mail program.

windows live essentials has windows live mail in it as one of the applications. When you go to install it you just put a check mark to WLM

you have to have a password, when it goes out to the mail server it needs that password to identify you, so it can send your your emails. Without it, you cannot receive nor send email no matter what program you use

I thought they meant a pw for Outlook. I put in my roadrunner pw and it worked fine.


Yes, and after all that I am still having mail problems... and now I discover the problem is with roadrunner. I'm not getting all my mail. People have sent me things I never got... I spent a lot of time on the phone with Time Warner today, but all they could tell me is "they are working on the problem". So I switched my email over to gmail.
