How to Reinstate Windows Mail in Windows 8.1

Hello,

Last year I was able to find a batch file for installing Vista Windows Mail on Windows 7. Does anyone know of or have a batch file for installing Vista Windows Mail on Windows 8.1? I have all the files, just need the actual batch file.

I belong to a stationery group and we're unable to use Windows 8.1 mail program for what we do and we need to use Windows Mail instead.

Windows live mail any good?

Windows Live Mail is fine, but just won't work for the HTML scripts we use.

Thunderbird is a good replacement, try it and see if it has the features you need. Works perfect in w8.

The good old Windows Mail may work in 8, but I'd say it's not a stable plan, can\will get wiped out with sfc\maintenance\os upgrades\dism etc, like what happens to it in w7.

Thanks for the suggestion, I have tried Thunderbird but we need the additional functionality of Windows Mail. Many of us are running Windows Mail on Win 8.1 and it's working fine, however if there is ever a major update that bombs it off I was just looking for a batch file like the one written for Windows 7 to reinstall Windows Mail. No problem, we can always just put it back on manually. Thanks for your help. Verna
