Solved Problem re-activating IE11 in in Win 8.1

I deactivated IE11 a while back, using the "turn windows features on/off" menu. Now, I need to reactivate it so I can fix the temporary internet files folder to fix an error with downloading apps from the store. However, I can't seem to reactivate IE11. When I check the box to turn it back on and press OK, nothing happens. If I open up the window again, I see that the box is not checked.

Is there a way I can fix this without reformatting?

Thank you!

Hey mate,

Can you 'free up disk space' in Disk Cleanup instead to clear temporary internet files? See picture:

Run:

&

sfc /scannow

They might help.

Thanks for the replies. I did run sfc /scannow and it yielded no results--everything was fine. I was able to get IE to reinstall by turning on other windows features at the same time, so that restart prompt showed up.

It may have been my temporary internet folder that was the problem. It didn't have a location when I accessed it via IE11.

But, thanks again.
