Firefox Compat Pop Up

another one of those annoying little things, how to stop the annoying Checking Compatibility Ad ons pop up every time I open Firefox. I dont want it, dont need it - so where do I 'switch' it off? I have check through settings cant see it anywhere.

It will do that whenever it has been updated to a new version. It does that so an add-on you may have installed will not crash Firefox. If it happens every time you open it, then something is wrong with the profile, and then you should make a new one by starting it from command prompt like this:

firefox.exe -p

then delete the old one.

A good add-on to have is Nightly Tester Tools. It can be set so that all add-ons are made compatible, no matter what. Use at own risk, of course.

firefox has gone security crazy, its blocking almost everyting, I have to keep clicking 'allow' - time to remove it methinks and go back to IE.

the above is on my 64 bit laptop. I am now at home on my 32 bit desktop and firefox does not produce the annoying splash screen here. And it has the same two ad ons. Ad Block and Browser protection or something. So its possible a bad download, later I will remove it totally , clean up the machine, then try again.


Sorry you people - basic school boy error - my laptop is Win 7 Pro.
