I have tried to make a short cut for it that does not work ,
and I did try copy and past it there that did not work also .
It only shows up as IE 32 Bit

Hello Jerry,

It seems that the 64-bit IE10 was not included in the 64-bit Windows 8 Consumer Preview. Maybe it will be in the next release.

I checked this last night, and there is no way to enable 64-bit mode through the interface (I believe that in WDP it was a checkbox in one of the tabs of the Internet Tools). Whether it can be enabled through the registry, I don't know but I doubt it. Interestingly, the sizes of the executables for iexplore.exe are different when comparing the one in Program Files with that in Program Files (x86), so it just looks that it is disabled for the time being. Quite why, I'm not sure, since WDP certainly did have 64-bit capability with IE.

I wonder if it is actually running 64-bit as default, and automatically switching to 32-bit mode on a tab-by-tab basis if required. Take a look at these snips of Task Manager and my addons.

Capture.PNG Capture1.PNG

Note how Task Manager shows 32-bit processes by (32) next to the name. Also, the addons image shows both 32-bit and 64-bit versions as being installed.

That is strange. Especially since it doesn't have 64-bit in the Help -> About IE dialog.

Yes, I just looked it up in Process Explorer - there's a 64 bit image/process that spawns a 32 bit one.
