I upgraded from windows 8 pro to windows 8.1 pro
When I watch YouTube video screensaver kicks in.

when I watched YouTube video on windows 8 it was IE10 (I think it used flash player plugin) everything was ok while video playing no screensaver.

After upgrade to windows 8.1 and ie11 I noticed that it is HTML5 video and screensaver started appearing while video is playing.
So question is how can I disable screensaver while HTML5 video is playing in IE11?

Sorry, but that post is not helpful at all.

I know how to change screen saver. Problem is that it should not go into screen saver while playing media.

Anyway problem solved by setting it back to flash player from html5

Nowadays, screensavers are used far less, and 'turn off monitor after...' is used to replace it. I would recommend disabling screensaver. This may even help with your problem.

Also, make sure windows is updated along with your browser. Windows 8 has built in flash, so it comes through system updates.

It could also be your display options, esp. during HTML playback,

It's set in group policy to lock pc with password prompt after some time when its idle and it goes to screen saver in my case monitor just turns off, because its set to turn off in power settings at the same time (I really don't need screen saver, but I want to turn off monitor after some time when pc is not used.)

It seems that while HTML5 video playing pc thinks its idle and turns off monitor after set time. flash player and other video play doesn't do that only html5. I know about flash integration and its always updated to latest version its not flash problem its HTML5 and possibly YouTube problem.

I just noticed that HTML5 or flash plays at what seems to be random sometimes it starts HTML5 player sometimes flash..
when it plays in HTML5 just restarting IE and opening video again starts flash.

It could also be your display options, esp. during HTML playback,

I want my monitor to turn off after some time when pc is idle.. and changing that setting every time just to watch html5 video.. is not worth it.

lol you quoted me here but I never said that :D

Mate, if you do not need screen saver, you do not need to have it turned on in order to turn your monitor off. That is a completely different setting independent of your screen saver. Also, the setting would be found in your power options, rather than 'personalization'. See more about power plan settings: http://www.eightforums.com/tutorials/5464-power-plan-settings-change-windows-8-a.html

Usually you have to set a webpage to play a specific player. See this webpage: YouTube

Sorry somehow my post got mixed in editing quotes.

If you read my previous post you will understand that I don't use screen saver to save screen or anything. there is group policy settings to screen lock after set time. lock is done via screen saver settings on resume display logon screen and screen saver is set to blank or none.

Sorry if I am going off topic (and not being very helpful here), but I would like to try and understand more.

It just seems like a round-about way of doing something. If you are satisfied with your current setup, it seems to be working. But if you are interested, you can specify a 'custom' power plan (including time until sleep and lock functions, etc.) using option 3 or 4 in this tutorial: Power Plan - Specify a Default for All Users - Windows 7 Help Forums

You have marked this thread as 'solved', so I will stop rambling. Thanks for being patient, and take care!
