When I click on email links on websites, instead of my mail program coming up with the address in the "to" line, I get a mail sign in page. To avoid it, I have to right click and copy email address, then go to my mail program and paste it in. What a pain. Can this be fixed?

Hello Snail,

Ok bring up control panel:

1. :winkey: + R
2. type "Control", click "ok"
3.in the search bar type "Default"
4.Click, "set your Default programs"

Note: This will now scan your system for the applications you have installed.
5. Find the application you want set as your default Mail client, click it and press "Set this programme as default"

then click "choose the Defaults for this programme" because we are going to have make sure a few settings are correct.

This is because you need to make sure the option "MAILTO" - Description "URL:Mailto" Is set to the correct Email Client. In this example if this was set to the Windows Mail App when you try and click in your browser to email someone it will load the mail app. If you are wanting to set it to load in outlook you will need to make sure when choosing outlooks defaults this is ticked.

I do not have Outlook installed on the computer i am doing the screenshots on but what you need to make sure is set to the correctly will be shown below.

Click Save, click ok.

Hope this helps,

Harry

It worked! Makes sense to change the defaults. I would've probably gone straight there on my old computer. I was hung up on the MS account thing. Also didn't know I could get to the control panel that way. Thank you!
