    True I think Hotmail/Outlook & Gmail are good, Yahoo is slacking recently got hacked and finally started encrypting logins.

    you can install email client e.g. thunderbird which allows you to decide if email should be downloaded with the pictures or picture placeholders only. Configure for Hotmail and it will download all emails with picture placeholders. If you trust sender then click on the placeholder and pictures will get downloaded.

    Email Clients like thunderbird etc. ,instead of web Email Clients are more risky right?

    no, why? They solve your problem, they give you more privacy (fix problem with email retention on the server)
