So randomly I stopped being able to move my firefox windows or use plugin windows (like firebug), I could still switch tabs and make new windows where I wanted them by dragging a tab out of firefox.

I reported that problem here https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/984035

While waiting I decided to try out Internet Explorer (which i typically only use to confirm compatibility) and it won't go to any web pages at all.

Then Desperate I tried opera Which I can move around however I can't switch between tabs.

I've begun to think my computer is sentient or infected and is just trolling me at this point, please help

Check LAN proxy settings in IE and run a scan with Malwarebytes.

In IE: Alt+X, Internet Options, Connections tab, LAN Settings

Remove all checked boxes and hit OK twice. Close IE.

Open and try again.

Check C:\Windows\system32\drivers\etc\hosts with Notepad to see if anything funky is in it.

Uninstall 3rd party antivirus and/or firewall to test, if need be.

I FOUND THE SOLUTION, so I realized that my windows 8 charm bar also wasn't working and figured if I couldn't fix the browsers I would fix that. Charm Bar example image

This lead me to need to preform a safe boot to see if it worked, out of curiosity i also tested fire fox and it was working as well.
I disabled an apparently malfunctioning Trillian messenger and now everything is working like it was before (trillian uninstalled because i don't use it anyway).

This has mended everything EXCEPT windows Internet Explorer
