Browser crashing

Hi, I am running win 8.1, i have had trouble with chrome crashing (shockwave flash) this happens all the time, even on the chrome settings page or upon launch (google search is my homepage). In ie i get a similar problem, i get an error message saying it must close the program.
I had this before and i did a reformat and clean install of windows and it worked flawlessly for a few days but the problem is back. Everything else on PC is working fine.
Specs:
Sandisk SSD 120GB
i5 2500
4GB OCZ RAM
GTX 680
Antec Trupower 750W

just to add, both times this has happened it has been after i have turned pc on after being off over night. I rarely turn system off but with no downloads or time critical software running i thought id power down. Maybe not relevant.

What version of Chrome are you running ? Stable, Beta, or Dev.

Uninstall and reinstall the latest stable version to see if that helps.

thank you for your reply but it seems to have been fixed with the latest windows update. I suspect a memory leak problem that microsoft have now patched
