Mail is "unavailable"

Whenever I try to sync up my AOL account through the Mail app, it says that my email address "is unavailable". I try removing the account and re-adding it, all of my emails get re-synched, and then...nothing. Can't send emails, can't receive new emails. I tried checking and unchecking "sync mail", nada.

Any ideas?

Tried all of those. Whenever I run the diagnostic, it tells me something's wrong with my display drivers, then it tells me I need to restart my computer because "changes have been made". I restart, try running it again, it says the same thing, ad nauseum.

Hmm... I'm not familiar with mail app but are you sure it isn't blocked by your firewall/router ? Check the apps authorized in windows firewall (which should be on by default).

About the drivers problem, it doesn't seem related. It might be because windows reverted to the basic drivers after using scannow. Try to update your display driver from your card manufacturer's page instead of the one from windows update.

So yeah, this is still a problem.

Every now and again I have to erase my AOL account and then readd it, which gets all of my emails. If I don't do that every now and again, I just can't fetch the email.

You are running 8, not 8.1, correct? Is there a number on your Store tile on the Start Screen?
