    Win8.1 Preview, IE11 desktop: Can't organize Favorites

    IE Desktop (Menu bar) Favorites always seem to sort by name. Want to manually shift high usage items to top like I could with IE8. Have disabled Add-ons (Classic IE, Logitech SetPoint, Shockwave) with no effect. Looked in IE options for a sort or drag/drop setting, but didn't see anything.

    Hi,
    Welcome to the forums, You could click the dropdown arrow by "Add to Favourites", select "Organise Favourites", at the next window you can manually move them around. HTH.

    I thought that just allowed you to move items to/from subfolders. Exactly what I'm looking for. Thanks.

    Windows 8.1

    Hello just upgraded to Windows 8.1 so I now have IE 11. I have the Menu Bar enabled I used to be able to move links up and down within a folder buy simply holding the left button on the mouse and moving up or down now all I get is a black circle with a line through it. I can do it the above way thanks for tip but I have folders within folders within folders and its just a lot harder that way.

    Do you know any way to enable it like IE 10 and every previous version if you can please help that would be appreciated thanks.

    I have the same issue, I get the circle with the line through it if I try and move favorites without going through organize favorites. I reset to factory defaults, disabled add ons and it still won't let me organize.

    @Harmic & boe,
    You need to drag the favourite(one you want to move) between two favourites down or up until you see "Move to", you don't need to go to organise favourites. You have to try few times to get the hang of it.

    I got the solution on another forum if anyone is having the same issue, go to IE Options, advanced, turn of enhanced protection mode.

    IE11 Favorites Bar Won't Allow Sorting

    Ok, I tried this BUT---the Enhanced Protection Mode box is already "unchecked." So now what do I do? I still cannot manually organize/sort my Favorites like I use to with past IE. Why???? Makes no sense to jump through so many hoops for something that was easy and always there. Help please.
