Hi.need a lot of help hope i'm able to learn something.old vista pc died, kept a running backup disc every sunday up until august when I bought an Toshibe ex. hard drive.i had quite a few problems transferring the Toshiba into the windows 8 pc.Made multiple copies on the hard drive darn near 250 gigs.so erased all those files and transferred the backups I had on discs. They're in my pc but I don't know how to access them/.I installed a couple apps but I still don't see anything.Anyhow what i'm asking now is I want to send attachments via email and the pc wants me to create an association in the default section.there is a list a mile long which I don't understand.Do i install some kind of app or is something else not setup right....

I think you probably need to associate the .eml file type with your email client like so:

Nick,

I didn't quite understand your private acknowledgement but thank you anyway. Somehow, I'm sensing you do not have a resident email client on your PC and you normally access gmail via a web-based operation. If true, that explains why you cannot use the send-to function because you don't have a client program to attach it to. Good luck.

Do i install some kind of app or is something else not setup right....

Yes

I noticed in 2 cents post the image of Mozilla thunderbird so I downloaded it and I no longer get the no default email client installed. I get password authentication failed. I can send and receive and I even sneaked an attachment thru to myself but now its to complicated a process.back to square one.

I can definitely help you with Thunderbird so can you please explain "exactly" what is happening? It could be a just a setting but I need to clearly understand the issue and maybe even a screenshot might get you a quick fix.
