New Lenovo Windows 8 laptop......

I added classic shell and I actually have no problems with navigating and it feels fast. I like it. BUT, firefox and chrome will not load web pages properly and sometimes not at all.....I don't notice this happening on IE, but only fox and chrome. What happens is, when you're surfing web pages, suddenly, you get something like server doesn't exist or yahoo handler error, or the page will just load weird with blue texts. You can refresh and the page will sometimes load fully, OR you can just close, clear cookies and then everything is fine, then a few webpages later, it starts all over again. When the web pages do load, they load fast and as normal.

I've tried SEVERAL things from reading online. I did the DNS flush, I disabled d-bugging in the device manager under adapters, ran ccleaner to clean all history (even the past 24 hrs), I uninstalled both broswers and reinstalled. The only AD on I have on chrome and firefox is adblock, but it's not that because I removed and the problem still happened. I don't know what else to try. This isn't happening on my windows 7 desktop

Did you create the factory recovery discs when initially prompted to do so? Does your Lenovo model have a one-key recovery option by chance (model not specified). If so, because it is new, you might want to consider doing a factory restore to day 1 status. This should fix your issue and give you a clean start.
Good luck.

Indeed it does have a one key recovery so I did not create disks initially.......However, my problem is fixed. Someone on another forum (after me trying everything under the sun I could think of) suggested that it may be a driver.......I searched for free driver updater and found slim drivers, so I downloaded that, it scanned and found 8 drivers out of date....updated them, installed, and after rebooting, everything works perfectly.........I'm not sure what updating a driver would do to correct an issue with chrome or fox - (that's over my head), but it worked! Thanks

Probably a graphic's driver update that fixed your issue. Anyway, that's great news and thanks for reporting back with your final solution. Cheers!

No Problem! I just hope in the future if anyone has this problem they can find this solution helpful. I looked EVERYWHERE and couldn't find a solution to my problem.

Incidentally, could you explain to me how a graphics driver would cause chrome or firefox to need their cache cleared frequently in order to resume browsing? I'm just trying to understand that one.

Thanks :D

graphics drivers were breaking a lot of metro apps in the earlier days of windows 8. I don't know why they would affect desktop apps.
