Solved Help with installing Firefox

OK here's the deal. I bought a cheap Gateway, downloaded Firefox and got all kinds of junk with it. I ended up returning the Gateway for a better computer a ASUS and I've installed everything but Firefox. I'm scared to download it. Last time it took me 3 hrs plus virus and malware scans to get rid of all the junk that came with it.

Can someone tell me where and how I can get a clean copy of Firefox browser?

I also downloaded "open office" and got even more junk. Now with this new computer which I love, I don't want any of that junk. Can you help me?

Hello Barbee,

You can get Firefox directly from the source Mozilla at the link below. When you install it, be sure to read the screens during installation to make sure that you do not select or approve to include anything else (ex: toolbars) with the installation of Firefox.

This had Sweetpack and Conduit, and Optimizer Pro. They were a pain in the &^%^%$ to get rid of.

That open office one is legit. called apache open office now, just have to avoid installed the extras: Avoid extras when installing free software - Windows 7 Help Forums
