It should say "Internet Explorer" - Check the source file and see if it has been renamed to... - Actually, that looks like a phone number. If that's your's you better change the image.

Recently lost my Windows 8 on my main PC, had to go back to Windows 7.

Exactly. It's not a phone number, and I haven't re-named the source file, as I don't know where the source file is.

Hello Eight,

As a test, unpin IE from your taskbar, then pin the "C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exe" file back to see if it works properly afterwards.

Hello Eight,

As a test, unpin IE from your taskbar, then pin the "C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exe" file back to see if it works properly afterwards.

The problem is very easy to replicate:

Screenshot (45).png

This is probably just a mis-named shortcut to IE.

Follow Brink's procedure to fix your issue. Note that I just dragged IE to the task bar as my method of pinning. Good luck.

PS - You can also delete the mis-named shortcut after the above is completed.
