IE icons stick together

For the last several weeks, when I have more than ONE IE open, they stick together. If I have 3, and try to move 1, I can not do it, as all 3 move as one.
I have no virus's and have run full scans in 'safe mode' and from the desktop, and with no results found.
I also ran Spybot and CCleaner and all is good.
I am still not able to get the icons detached from each other, but it is only IE icons, none other.
Is there any help available for me ? :( NONE are pinned to task bar. I tried pinning, and unpinning to no avail.
Thanks

I have also made certain that in the taskbar they are 'not stacked' and 'never combined'.

I am beginning to think Microsoft 'creates' these problems so you must use their 'PAY' tech service to rid yourself of them.

I hope someone has an answer, or am I right about Microsoft techs?

Na, I think you are victim of a conspiracy theory.

Regarding your problem I would look into an Aero problem and the graphics driver. It is most likely caused by that.

Hi, and thanks for your response, however, being a little less than novice, I don't understand what an Aero problem might be?
I have googled icons stuck together, and find also that firefox users are having similar problems.
Could you be a little clearer so I can follow your help?
Thanks again

As a first step you should check in Device Manager whether the driver for your Monitor is properly working.

Try right clicking the taskbar/properties and set taskbar buttons to never combine.See if thats what your looking for.

That's the way Win7 and Win8 is designed to work.

There is a tweak available to split them up as I remember posting about it on the Seven Forums some time ago.

I'll try to hunt it up.

Ah, here ya go.

I tried to download it, but after clicking twice on run, Norton advised they 'removed' the file and didn't let it run. Said, reason was it was 'too new' and 'had too few people trying it'.

What next ? :(

Read the content of the link linked to in the link I provided above.

The author realizes this can be an issue.

BTW, if you're on Win8 Developer Preview, why are you running Norton?

Not really sure what you mean by me being on Win8 Developer preview....I'm on Win7, ie 9

I tried again, and still, Norton is blocking and removing it, even after I click 'run' twice. ? :(

Oh, this is a Win8 Forum so I assumed you were on Win8.

Temporarily turn off Norton - the file is safe.

is there any link for win7 to 'unstick' icons ? When I tried to d/l the link, first Norton told me it was not safe, then when I disabled Norton, the link would not d/l at all on win 7

I tried several times to d/l the 'ah hah' site you found for me, and each time I get 'unable to connect' from IE

Any other thoughts, or maybe another link that I can try clicking on?

Thanks for your time, it is appreciated

Is this how they "stick together" - of yes, that is normal.
