Ok I have reinstalled 8 as I mucked up the first and I need IE9 instead of 10 because my pay office software doesn't get supported in 10. So before I do anything stupid like I did before how do I disable 10 and install iE9 so I can access my pay system.

OK Shawn I will have to try that then if it doesn't work then I will b stuck with not getting my pay stuff up on the lappy never mind not the end of the world I guess it is only one issue.

By the way that SFC that would not run before - worked after a reboot so I don't know what the problem was:confused:

Ive been trying to brute force win8 to running IE9, its as if its deliberately blocked from doing so..
If I find a way ill post back..

---Update---

Seems like the file itself IEXPLORE.EXE has some info in it that Win 8 reads then allows or disallows it to run..
when I stripped it of personal info and properties from (properties optios) it would not even load.

However if compatibility mode works for you as Brink suggested, you can also try to manually set compatibility with (F12) then select browser version.

compat mode.jpg

Ill continue to try to find an answer..
