Adobe Flash does not work if accessed from a Metro app

When I click on a link needing Adobe Flash from within a Metro app, I get a message that I need to install adobe flash. However if I access the same content from within the desktop's IE, it will play.

I have the feeling I'm missing just a switch or something.

I googled your issue (at least what I think your issue is) and I was surprised to find many others having a similar issue. Apparently, MS does not provide Adobe Flash support in IE10 Metro. See here and good luck:

Yikes. I see I forgot the word "not" in the thread title. Apparently you figured out I meant to say Adobe Flash does not work.
I am a total newbie to Windows 8 and didn't pay much attention to the term Metro App and had no idea that there 2 types of IE.

I ran across this article and it fixed the problem in that I can access links needing Adobe Flash without wondering if I'm in a Metro App or a Desktop IE, but with this change, I've lost any of the doodads that make using a Metro App convenient. The change suggested in the article makes all my IE access jump to the Desktop.

I guess I can mark this as solved given that you've showed me I wasn't crazy, but I am not crazy about the fix.
