If you're talking about the forums just type the word or sentence, select it and click on the hyperlink button in the editor to add the destination URL.

I didn't know there was a difference, (with the exception of this forum's postings), I thought you could create a hyperlink the same way in all uses. It seems when I was using XP it wasn't that difficult, but I can't see anything on this Win8 in reference to hyperlinking. If there is a difference between email systems, I use Metro Mail & Gmail. I actually don't know what I would call my Metro Mail system, my ISP is VirginMedia who supply my emails, but the title is Ntlworld at the head of my email page. What about if I wanted to create a hyperlink in WordPad? Thanks for your replies!

Usually when you post a link in here, it gets reamed to match the Title on the Website, this is so that the link will say what it says on the page. For instance:

If we didn't CARE if ya liked us back in 1981 why the fook would we NOW?

For wordpad you can just type in the url & save as RTF & open the saved rtf & click on the url.

    There are probably other ways.
    I don't use wordpad much.

Here is a Free Office program that allows using custom text for a hyperlink:

Free Office Software, Kingsoft Office Suite Free 2012

With the Writer you can make various kinds of documents.
    RTF , DOC , ETC.

You might be interested in it.

    EDIT--

I opened the RTF file with Wordpad & the link worked.
    I like .rtf files.
