outlook question

just got my Pc with windows 8 a month ago. I got outlook setup for my aol email account but I don't understand why when I delete an email in outlook it will still be there if I log into my email on aol site. very frustrating. any help would be great. thanks

It stays on web mail unless you delete it from there, regardless if you bring it in Outlook
There are options on aol or even outlook that allows you to leave it on the server
If you have this option checked in Outlook, it will NOT delete it from your web aol

In outlook to change this:
File/Account Settings
Higlight the Aol Account and click on "Change"
Click on More Settings
Advanced
there you will see at the bottom "Leave emails on the server" and the days or times
Just uncheck the box

Once you do this, it should not show up on the webmail
if this does not work then on the webmail there are options where you can do this

I leave a copy on the server because I have a smart phone and if i delete it from my smart phone the emails will not come into outlook or visa versa
