Can't delete an email

My mail account is working perfectly OK except this morning I received an email - junk mail! (but just plain text) that I now can't get rid of.

I highlighted the email, clicked on the delete icon on the top right and in greyed briefly but remains in my inbox. Unfortunately Microsoft have seen fit to stop us manually dragging the file to the delete folder and has done away with the drop down menus that allowed us to do so much in the past.

I read on this forum that someone had a similar problem deleting an email stuck in the Outbox, and I followed some of the advice given for that, but no luck. The message remains!

What mail program are you using? In Livemail, right click on the junk folder and empty.

it is the Windows 8 standard mail program that comes with 8.
The email is in my inbox and won't move, right clicking only gives me the option to pin it or synch it! I can't drag it either it just sits there laughing at me...... Like some demon email sent to torture me (OK I added a little drama to that!).

Right click on the e-mail and select delete.

Yeah you are showing me screen shots from Windows LIVE Mail, which is not what comes as standard with Windows 8. Thanks for doing that because I've decided to dump the Windows * Mail program in favour of Windows Live Mail (like you have). I've just finished setting it up and it works perfectly

Nope!

You might try the same thing as getting rid of emails in the 'Outbox'. Leave the email open, turn off your Wi-Fi connection, a see if the 'Delete' trash bin icon that opens works.

I have also incounter the same problem about email can't be delete. .i was just try to refresh my page. and it be back to normal i can already delete files from my email.

yeah, if all of the above doesn't work, try deleting it from the email account in the web browser.
