    Hello angieb and welcome.

Does your lappy have touch screen? If so, have you cleaned it? Sometimes my phone does this.

If it's not that, is it a touch pad? Settings there ok?

Something was triggering this behavior. Could be the OS is working things out. So far so good today?

Just for grins, pointer to lower left corner and right click. A menu appears. Click on Device Manager. Does any yellow flags show in that?

Check Action Center. Any issues there? That's either on the desktop taskbar or type "Action Center" when on Start Screen.

You're quite welcome. Software is fickle. Sometimes I think it really is someone in my computer that has a mind of their own!

Good luck to you. Enjoy your new lappy!
