    Best Browser For Win 8

I have had it with IE, somethings I want to do it wont let me, the settings are naff too. I have also had it with Firefox, it does not 'fit' anymore. Chrome is on its way out too, it wont let me cut and paste off the net, an important part of my hobby.

I am currently trialing lunarscape6 on my laptop (win 7) its solid, does what I want (up to now). It uses 3 different engines, I have it set for gecko at present. Only downside to date is it takes a few seconds longer to load as it has to load the engine first.

I googled Browsers for windows and the resulting list only adds to the confusion.

    56 diff browsers!!!!

List of Web browsers for Windows

Anybody got a definitive browser that actually is fast, adjustable and does the job.

So, what are you exact issues with IE, FF and Chrome? Other then ranting about how you're fed up with them does not help us help you.

I use all 3 you mentioned and they all work beautifully and all 3 load up under less than 1 second.

If I were to guess at your problem, I would guess you have a bunch of tool bars loaded that are associated with certain software downloads. Also, that your system is infected with Malware, Spyware and Adware....maybe even a trojan or two. I would run your AV software doing a full scan and then run Malwarebytes, SuperAntiSpyware, TDSSKiller, just to name a few...

Again this is just a guess.

The biggest problem with browsers in windows 8 is if you use a touch screen.

You have some specific requirements of the browser that the "big three" don't meet, at least one specifically pertaining to your undisclosed "hobby". Can you elaborate more specifically on what functions you need them to perform? Nobody can answer your question unless the implicitly had the same requirements and found a satisfactory browser. So knowing your requirements is essential.

I'm not moaning, just asking. I wasn't expecting the Spanish Inquisition

Anyway, I have disliked IE since 9, call me personal choice if you like, I prefer the old style IE, easier to use.
Chrome does not allow me to cut and paste bits of info for my research; so bye
Safari was never a first choice but tried it and left it on the pc for a while before removing it as surplus to requirements.
Firefox has been a pain since two versions ago, up till then I wouldn't dream of not using it. I close a window from a desktop link and decide to go elsewhere, it tells me that firefox has not closed down and that I will either have to wait, or reboot. NO, I won't do either. Its been troublesome in Win 8 since day one. FF also hangs on occasion.
Now installed Lunarscape6.8 in pc as well, its fast, its solid and so far I have not detected anything untoward. Just made it default, from Chrome, looking good. We shall see.

My actual question which you all seem to have missed is what is you choice of browser.

Actually, your original subject implies the question, "What's the best browser for Windows 8?" which is quite subjective. And the question in your post asks what browser "... does the job". In order to answer the latter, I'd need to know what "the job" is. If you're asking what people currently use or prefer, I use and like Firefox. But that probably doesn't help with your situation.

Not meaning to interrogate. Just looking for information that might guide toward providing a helpful answer.
