I just bought a new PC, and am still getting used to Windows 8. I think I'm starting to like it a bit better now... Anyways, I am trying to get my emails on Outlook (2010) from my old PC to the new one. I have everything backup online on MyPCBackup... Have tried to find info on how to do this, have tried myself... to no avail. I'm a novice as far as anything other than working with the programs I know... Is there anybody who can help me out. I KNOW there's a way to do this....
So glad there are Forums like this to help those of us who don't know how to do these things!!! So, THANK YOU to all who's reading this, and to those who will try to help me out.
Maggie.

Emails from old PC to new PC

Thank you Archie123 for your help. I tried it and it worked up to a point. I have managed to get the Outlook folder now onto my new PC. Problem came when I tried to get the file integrated with Outlook on the new PC - the steps in the article seems to only support Vista, Windows 7 and not Windows 8. If the steps for Windows 7 and 8 are the same, I'm a little stuck, because Windows 8 gives me different messages in the Outlook setup steps as is explained in the article for Windows 7. Any ideas of how to go forward? Thanks again for your help so far.

see if this helps, I made this manual and it works everytime and it is very easy to follow it.
Once you have created the file use a usb flash drive and copy it onto it and you go through the first part of the manual but instead of exporting it, you click on "import from another program or file"
click on the Browse button, find the file and import it in exactly where you want it to go in outlook.
You have to create the email info first before you do this, so you have to create your email info, usernamae, password, pop account, smpt account again first

Once you have done this you can import the file back in. All your emails will be there
You can get all the info from the old Outlook account if you are not sure what to put, but it will not show you your password so you need to put that into the new outlook.
If you need help finding all this please post back and I will walk you through it

There's a much easier way to do this...on the PC that has Outlook installed, go to explorer then doucuments. In the documents folder, you should see the "Outlook Files" folder. Copy that to a thumb drive. On the new PC, install outlook, plug in thumb drive, then go to explorer, documents and drag/drop the "Outlook Files" folder. Open up outlook and everything should be as it was on the old PC now on the new PC.

that is good advice but sometimes it does not work, I have tried that, for some crazy reason the folder gets corrupted when you copy and paste it, but it is a good first try anyway, and if it does not work, you can try mine too :)

I've never had a problem with that method, and have been using it for years, since Office 2007. I also saved your pdf file for reference as well...nice job.
