MS account on the pc

I don't know how it happened but it has. When I access PEOPLE from the Metro tile, I now have many duplicate contacts. I thought what showed here was pretty much controlled by what contacts I had made on my website for hotmail. It seems to always have changed in accordance with what I added or took away. So when I noticed these redundant contacts I went back to hotmail online, deleted them all, thinking this would now reflect from the Metro tile for PEOPLE. Hasn't worked? They are not disappearing. At that same place it reports I'm connected to MS but when clicking there on that MS logo is doesn't give me the option to remove the connection with MS. Besides, why arent' the going away if hotmail online is devoid of contacts?

This is new and is not acting like it has the past 2 days. Any help is greatly appreciated! Jack

Open People, go to Settings, then click Options. This is where you can turn on/off accounts that the People apps will use to populate contacts. Turn off any account except Hotmail and see if the duplicates are removed.

Right! Done that. The only account that is showing is MS. Still, when I access PEOPLE by the metro tile I have duplicates. However when I go online through the browser to my MS account, which is a hotmail account, it shows I have none. That's because I disassociated any contacts with it ... shouldn't that tell "metro mail" to show no contacts?

Thanks for the info and help! jack

You know I've edited here, hoping you haven't already read it. Like I'm the only one asking questions eh? lol I thought I've got this licked. MS says when you switch to a local account you lose everything they have. GOOD! Thinks I. So I switched to a local account and did a few things and rebooted and switched back to the MS account. Yep, the contacts were still there and I had not added them at hotmail online nor was I connected to Gmail. So why was contacts and all these redundants still there when MS said they'd delete all infor related to MS Outlook? So I thought, maybe cache? So I emptied all that. Still these redundancies and I have no idea where they are coming from. Possibly it's time to create a new MS account and start from scratch? Is that drastic? jack ... and thanks!

Interesting. So, I had a few corrections to make in my Outlook Contacts and thought this would be a good time to do so and see how People handled it. Made the changes in Outlook then checked People. The changes were not reflected even though it "synced." A puzzlement for sure. Let me know here if you find out more.
