Solved Odd Google home page problem.
In Internet settings on the control panel I have google as my home page. The exact address I have it set to is
Google , however when I open IE I end up at
http://www.google.com/cgi-bin/redirect.ha which is not a functioning page & displays the following message:
404. That’s an error. The requested URL /cgi-bin/redirect.ha was not found on this server.
That’s all we know.
Any ideas on this odd problem?
Thanks!

This probably will not help with obtaining a solution, but I just realized even when I click the link to Google in my original post in this thread that I am taken to the exact same error page.
Very confusing.

But that actually is the addy I have under internet settings (I believe unless I am missing a detail). I see I failed to include the www in my original question, however it is there in my internet settings.

No worries.
Do you have this same issue using any other browser (ex: Firefox, Chrome, etc...)?
If so, then what internet provider do you have? It may be an issue with their DNS server. As a test, use
Google Public DNS , and see if you have the same issue afterwards.

It seems a lot of folks using ATT U-verse is having that issue from what I see over the net. If you like, you could test use Google Public DNS to see if it works in IE afterwards.
If you're happy with Chrome, then I wouldn't worry about it.
