I have an issue with IE for Win8

Every time I click on a link in IE I get a dialog box asking if I want to "Run, Save, or Save as" some file apparently connected to the link I clicked on. I couldn't find any setting to change this. Can anyone help?

    Thanks,
    BobI

Sounds like a good time for a complete virus & Adware scan.
If you have Avast you can do a boot time scan.

    Sounds weird.

Any screenshots or name of the file being requested for download?

No screen shots, but when I click on the IE icon on the desktop screen the program opens and a dialog box opens in the middle of the window:

What do you want to do with t_msn_com.htm?
    Open?
    Save?
    Save as?
    Cancel

Closing the dialog box closes the program window.

You can save or save as somewhere you see it, it is just a link to msn, not a program. Then see if it stops doing that again.

OK guys my problem appears to be solved. My installation of Norton Internet Security somehow didn't make it through the installation of Win8Pro, so I reinstalled it, and had it perform a complete system scan. It found some issues, corrected them, and now IE operates mostly as it should. Pages load without the dialog box. But, just this AM I had the issue of a page not loading, but that isn't a consistent situation.
