"Contacts" still doesn't seem fully-featured...

I've had this frustration since Windows XP and hoped they would fix it by 8, but they really haven't.

I'm an avid Windows Phone user, so my Microsoft Account is full of my contacts, and I'd love to be able to port them into my Contacts folder on Windows 8.

But unfortunately, it never seems to import user's pictures and a few other items, whereas on Outlook.com's People tab, it displays all content fully.

Is there a way to keep a backup of contacts from your Microsoft Account or is it only partial? I may be missing something, here...

Microsoft has always kept the contacts app in Windows very limited. They want people to upgrade to Outlook, and they want businesses to upgrade to MS CRM. If they made this app "fully featured" for free, many people might not buy their commercial products.

It would also piddle off all the third party contact app developers.

I've seen the same issues as I have a Nokia Lumia 920 phone and I wanted all of my contacts in Mail on Win8 and it just doesn't seem to work. I'm using Office 2013 and Outlook 2013 is much better, buit still not perfect. Windows Mail makes me want to scream!

No, like azasadny said, I have both a fully active Microsoft and Facebook account, and use a Nokia Lumia 920 daily. My contacts on the People hub on both the phone and Outlook.com are what I want on my computer, but my computer still doesn't have all the information "People" does.

I'm now using Outlook 2013 and all of my contacts are in it. It was an easy install and so far., I like it, but it's only been one day, so problems may creep up.

Windows Mail reminds me of the old Outlook Express application that was a skimmed down, minimal-featured version of it's namesake. Kind of like Microsoft Works versus Microsoft Office!

I'm finding problems with Outlook 2013's People, namely my contacts don't show up. xD I use a Gmail account-based Microsoft account, so I don't think my contact migrated. I have an Outlook.com account too, if that helps...

I've connected LinkedIn, Facebok, Twitter, YouTube, SkyDrive and more, but I still can't seem to find my contacts. The only contacts that appear are some of my iCloud contacts.
