I use comodo dragon (chromium based browser), I have home page set to yahoo, tabs set to open yahoo, and have removed bing from search engine list. I have also uninstalled the bing app, but every day on start up, bing is there as my home page. It isnt stopping me from doing my work, but it is a HUGE annoyance

There is loads of info on how to remove bing desktop, bing search etc...but not on how to stop bing from hijacking my home page...please help!!!

It might not JUST be Bing. There may be a rouge app on your system, so try download Revo Uninstaller and look for any app/program like BidSmart or something like that, then get rid of it.

If that's not the problem, then maybe it's a browser problem, not sure :s

ceejay, thank you for the tip. I have revo and I have removed every "visible" trace of bing. It only hijacks me once a day, on morning start up...My computer is 13 days old, fresh out of the box. I have used comodo dragon browser for about 1 year with no issue. I dont use any toolbars and the only addon I have is adblock plus....like I said, this isnt a critical problem, but I am stumped, frustrated and irritated...

Hm. I did have a similar problem with Chrome when I first installed Windows 8 on my laptop.

Did your computer come preinstalled with Windows 8? You could try a refresh, but it's not worth the hassle for a minor but annoying problem like this one. Another thing, try launching the Internet Explorer app off the start screen, and see if Bing is the home page, or if there's a Bing addon in there. If so, change the home page or uninstall the addon.

EDIT: Didn't see your the post prior to mine before I posted. You could also try checking any other browsers or anything that could be related to Bing. Or simply, try setting the homepage to Google, reboot and see if it does the same.

Bing is nasty.
I believe it is connected to something else so even if you uninstall it, The thing or things it is connected to still annoy you with it.

I just contacted Bing about your problem & am waiting for a reply.

I might have a solution.
Set your Homepage FIRST.

Open Group Policy Editor & in the left pane expand User Configuration>Administrative Templates>Windows Components>Internet Explorer then on the right pane look for "Disable Changing Home Page Settings".
