Solved Windows Mail vs Windows 8

Hello there!


I just upgraded a notebook here to Windows 8 (it had a Vista before that) and it went fine, I selected the option to keep the personal files, but made a backup in a external HD before install it just to be sure.

The files seem to be OK, the problem is that the owner of the notebook used Windows Mail in Vista and now the new mail system in Windows 8 don't have the older emails, though both are connected to the same mail account. The folders from Windows Mail are still there so I think it can be somehow imported to the new system, but I don't know how! The only explanaitions I find are to when you have a PC with Visa and another with 8, but since everything is/was in the same machine those methods wouldn't work.

Also I tried to download Windows Mail to try reinstall it (the folders are still there, but not the app), but I couldn't find it anywhere. I only found Live Mail, but the download is not working for some reason. It asks me to install .NET framework 3.0, and when I try to install it, it asks for the 3.5 (which has 2.0 and 3.0), but then the instalation stucks while it's downloading it.

To install NET framework 3.5 in windows 8 is done through
The control panel by selecting (uninstall programs) then
At the top left hand corner selecting (turn windows features on or off)
A window will appear wear you select (NET framework 3.5) which includes
NET 2 & 3….
