I recently bought a new Asus touchscreen notebook which came loaded with Win8 & IE10
So far, I love this computer! I added a 250Gb SSD and a new Intel WiFi card and everything is up and running almost perfectly - The only 'issue' is my browser
I very much like Win8 so far, especially on a touchscreen machine
I have *always* used IE - I know there are plenty of IE haters out there, but it has always served me well and I wasn't looking to change
I've also used Google for years and years and don't care to change . . . . especially not to Bing
My predicament is . . . . Bing. It seems irrevocably linked to IE10 in the Win8 platform. I've read there is a way to add Google and make it the default browser *if* you're using Win8 in the desktop mode - Obviously, I'm not
So, I'm being forced to make what for me is a big decision and really soon! I feel I just can't live another day with Bing hijacking my computer, so it appears IE10 has to go . . . . or does it?
Is there *any way* for me to keep IE10 and still be guaranteed that I'm never going to see a Bing search ever again?
If not, I'd love to hear others experience using Win8 in the metro mode with Chrome as your browser. Am I going to learn to love this combo?
Thanks in advance for your pearls of wisdom on this. At this point, I truly feel like a fish out of water
