Browser Not Loading

Hi,

Anyone else have difficulty with web browsers (particularly those that operate on port 80) not responding for a while (like 5-10 minutes) when Windows starts? The browsers will say LOADING but after 5-10 minutes, it will fail as operation timeout. Then when I refresh, it will load properly immediately.

It happens in all the browsers (IE, Chrome, Firefox). And it's not a machine problem because it happens in both my desktop and laptop. And desktop runs in x64 while laptop is in x86. So completely different environments having same kind of response.

I really wish I know why it's happening. It's really annoying. Internet is fine (both wired connections) and other ports are fine as well because my email softwares (outlook and WLM) and my gtalk works fine during that period. So does my Google Drive and Sky Drive. Only the browsers seem to have this problem.

I would appreciate any kind of suggestions on fixing this issue. It's really annoying me especially on the laptop when I boot it up to do something and have to wait 10 minutes to browse the Internet.

Kind Regards,
Plague

I've had maybe somewhat of the same issue as you. Not sure if this helps but its worth a look. Anyways I've had the situation where I go to a website, but my browser says its loading but I only see a blank page. When I pressed the refresh button, it worked. I called Time Warner Cable (my ISP provider) and a technician came by and inspected my internet connection. He said the problem was that the cable modem was receiving incomplete data and that in the modem log showed errors in receiving data. A new modem was replaced and everything was fast again.

It could be your router, DSL, or cable modem because both of your computers suffer the same issue.

Apologies for the delay. Was on holidays during new year.

No. That is not the problem because I'm facing the same issue at work, at home and in friend's places as well. If my router was broken, I should experience the same issue for any devices. But my PS3 works as well as my skype, googletalk, mail and other softwares that doesn't run in port 80.

I don't have any. I have a firewall (Bullguard) which I suspected may be the cause for this so I booted up in safe mode and I experienced the same issue. I suspect it could be something to do with the cache being used by the browsers. I notice the issue happening when I have many tabs opened (about 12/13 tabs). If I'm running 1 or 2 tab, then it's working fine. So that's what I think may be the cause of this problem. But how to fix it is something I don't know.
