Solved internet wont load

every few minutes or so firefox will stop working and says server can not be found and i also open up internet explorer and that wont load ether. it takes about 5 minutes of me clicking try again or closing the page and reopening for it to finally work again. yet my internet connection is fine and every other computer works normally. i just got this laptop the other day. i have no idea what to do, but i am aggravated beyond belief. any help is greatly appreciated.

ANYONE??? this is the most annoying thing ive ever had to deal with, im about ready to throw this laptop against the wall.

I have had a similar problem like this way back when I had a desktop computer. From my experience, the problem was that there was a program on my computer that was completely hogging up my internet connection. There have been reports that some antiviruses have some sort of web scan or whatever you call it that scans incoming data. This actually slows down your Internet. Check the programs you have running on your computer with Task Manager. One of those programs could be the culprit and not your hardware.

i actually just deleted mcafee that came with the laptop and downloaded a free version of avg, and my internet is faster then ever. must have been a fire wall or something. thanks guys!
