Can no more download any file from Websites with IE 10

Hello
My problem: since I installed Win 8 with IE 10 there is no means to download any file from Websites. Is there a setting in IE 10 that I have to change?

Are you speaking of the Metro version of IE10 or the Desktop version? (Both are present in Windows 8.)

The download behavior of the Desktop version is normal for me. I don't use the Metro version.
