I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling the latest version of flashplayer. It is enabled in add ons. I get errors when trying to play videos that the latest version of flashplayer needs to be installed. When going to the adobe flashplayer website it goes directly to a page that says flashplayer help/flashplayer issues/windows 8. I've tried those solutions with no luck. Videos play fine in firefox. Any ideas?

I tried both. The sfc said it found corrupted files and repaired them. The problem still exists. The flash player version check shows nothing is installed. It works fine in firefox.

Check to see if you have Active-X filtering on, as that will prevent Flash from running. You can have it turned on and selectively enable sites that you trust to play Flash in IE. Click on the blue circle with a line through it at the top right in the address bar, to selectively turn Axtive-X on or off.

FF uses a Flash Player plugin and IE10 uses a different version of flash player which is part of IE10, you can not install a Flash Player.
Only thing I can think of is a Reset but you will have to re-install your programs, have a look at this tutorial and decide:

Got it solved. What I did was a restore with the imaging program Shadow Protect. What cause the problem originally was firefox was frozen. It was due to a problem with flash player. The remedy I read was to uninstall flash player and reinstall an earlier version. Firefox worked but flash player stopped in internet explorer. After the restore I installed a newer version of flash player that just came out. Firefox and ie 10 both work with flash player now.
