Hi 'xraiderv1', No I haven't tried Palemoon (not yet anyway) However 2 or 3 months before moving from W7 to W8 and having a 64 bit OS I downloaded Waterfox. It uses the same database as Firefox and therefore automatically installs all your FF settings and Bookmarks. It had behaved splendidly on W7 and doing the same good job in W8 since launch day. It is a 64 bit version of Firefox and if you install and like it then don't uninstall the database if you remove Firefox.
Hope this helps.
Regards.

has anyone here tried this? is it worth switching over to from firefox?

It's worth trying. You will get a speed increase (x64 javascript engine) on some sites but not all.
Your (many) open tabs can go way up exceeding 2GB of RAM without problems.

It's recommended if you have enough memory and x64 CPU.

The only downside is the outdated versions (FFox gets v18 and this is v15).
Mostly because it's harder to build in x64 with lacking support and compiler plugins.

There is also Waterfox that I have installed here but there seems to be a compiler problem for v17 for the moment (is just one version behind, no drama) but might get fixed.

Pale Moon:
I will definitely try it because it's built with VS 2012 and should integrate in Win8 quite well IMO.

Yeah, but that performance increase doesnt do much, its like 1 %, ff is still slowest browser in da world. And no, its not outdated version, its just based on ff 15, cause newer versions suck, and its getting updated.

Thanks.
This is an important thing to know. Didn't know where the .3 in the version came from.

I've installed it and so far so good.

It's definitely good to try for the FFox fans that experience crashes with the standard version on newer CPU's.
