Hyperlinks stopped working in Windows 8 Mail app

Since 48 hours, for all new mails incoming, the hyperlinks (either mail adress or www adresses) won't even be clickable in the mail messages... They show up as normal text, and I have to select, copy and paste them into my browser...

The links are still there fot the less recent mails (those recieved last week)

    Any help??
I really hav'nt changed anything in my settings...
I am syncing a gmail account.
The hyperlinks will work in Outlook, and even in my Windows Phone mail app, so I doubt it has anything to do with gmail itself...

Hum... So the links are now working in today's mails I'm receiving... Guess it was just a glitch.

I'm having the same problem. I joined this forum just to get some information on this. I just installed Windows 8 a couple
of days ago and when I was trying out the mail program I couldn't believe that links wouldn't be clickable in the mail program.
I am trying to find out whether it is a bug or a HUGE oversight on Microsoft's part

Click on one of the links in your email and if nothing pops up go to internet explore and open it up. The website you were clicking on may be there. This is the problem I'm having. I click on a link and it does nothing, but if I bring up the browser the website I clicked on is there. It happens when I use Bing as well.

Finally, I have solved the issue. (Spend me about 5 hours ...)I use debug tool to trace the Windows run-time library line by line and compare the result with a new installed Win 8 device. I can say the issue should be a 'REGISTRY' related issue.

    My solution is:

    1. open regedit
    2. delete 'HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Classes\CLSID' key. (You may need to do a backup before killing it.)
    3. reboot.

    Enjoy it !

You mean all under HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Classes\CLSID ? Or some specific?

I removed all, had so much confidence in poster that I did not even make a backup...
edit: had a quick look at the key and found that there is a new CLSID with content.

    Yes, just remove it.
The problem is due to the old registry keys that cause your system cannot work properly with new installed Win8 components.
I cannot get any answer from Microsoft Q&A community so that I decide to solve issue by myself and finally, I get a solution.

Delete the personal CLSID doesn't harm your system. It will force system to use the keys stored at HKLM.

Indeed, I found that deleting the entire HKCU/Software/Classes/CLSID restores the functionality of the e-mail app and Bing app links to IE10. However, I was afraid that this fix might be too extreme. So, I backed up the key, and the deleted the CLSID individual keys in groups to find the offending group. I started with all keys beginning with "1" all the way through "F". I found it was the group beginning with "8". So, I restored the original complete HKCU/Software/Classes/CLSID key, then deleted each individual key beginning with an "8".
    It ended up being {871C3580-42A0-1069-A2EA-08002B30309D}.
I have no idea what program created this key. I Googled it to no avail. Most likely something leftover from my Windows 7, upgraded from Vista, upgraded from XP, etc., or perhaps some kind of trojan?
There may be other keys that would cause this problem, but it only took about an hour or so to find the offending CLSID key. Just a suggestion for those who might be "chicken" like me!
