I just upgraded to windows 8, and when I'm in the desktop view and using firefox or chrome, everything including fonts, images, and even the tabs look blurry and distorted. Internet explorer looks great in desktop view. Here's an example of what I'm talking about.

Now here's internet explorer

I have an i5 3750k with integrated graphics.

When I was using the Windows 8 preview version, I didn't have this problem at all.

Have you run the Cleartype optimizer?

Open the start menu and type cttune and hit enter. Don't worry if nothing shows up, it should still start.

You can also get to it by going to Control Panel, and clicking on Hardware and Sound, then click "Make text and other items larger or smaller", then in the left hand column choosing "Adjust Cleartype Text".

Follow the instructions. Or watch this video:

Make text easier to read using ClearType
