Solved speedtest.net

When using speedtest.net in desktop mode it works fine. When using IE metro tile I get this page. Can someone please explain....confused?

The speedtest site itself uses an adobe flash control to show you everything useful (aka not ads). It's apparently not in the white list of sites that can run adobe flash in the modern IE, thus it doesn't run in modern IE properly.

So is doesn't run in modern IE for anybody or just me ....that's the confusing part for me.

Have you installed java? I have just checked mine and works.

installing now...well check it out...

nope...that didn't work...so I have the latest flash player installed and now java and still using IE modern I still can't get speedtest to work. It's still works just fine in desktop mode....very strange. I'm using the Release Preview not the RTM if that makes a difference.

That may actually make a difference, contrary to my previous post. I managed to get it to work on my x64 Win8 RTM installation without doing anything (and I don't have java installed), so the fact you're not on RTM may very well be why it's failing.

Yes, speedtest.net not working in RP and works in RTM.

OK...thanks guys. I guess I'm SOL until I get a retail copy.
