Is there a way to legally activate Windows 8 RTM?

Hello xtrips,

Yes. You can purchase a MSDN or Technet subscription, then download Windows 8 and get a legal key from it.

Otherwise, you could purchase a store bought computer with Windows 8 included, or wait until October 26th to buy the retail Windows 8. :)

Actually, I reccomend the MS Action Pack, which is only $399 / year for 10 licenses each of Windows and Office! Assuming, of course, that you do IT work as part of your regular line of business.

With a windows live account, it is possible to obtain an evaluation version of Windows 8 Enterprise see:

http://www.eightforums.com/windows-...e-evaluation-available-anyone.html#post109451

As evaluation software, I believe it will run for 90 days, with registration and online activation explicitly required (no product key needed). Not upgradeable, but available for activation until 15th August 2013.

For me the direct download link was:

http://care.dlservice.microsoft.com...N-US-HRM_CENA_X64FREE_EN-US_DV5.ISO?lcid=1033

After 90 days, it will bomb out, but the retail versions will be available before then.
