Hi everyone!

Does anyone know when Microsoft will end support for all the Windows 8.1 Pro security patches and updates?
All I know, that Mainstream Support ends on January 2018 for Windows 8.1.
But does it mean that Security Updates will stop as well on that date?

I am also just a home user and not an Enterprise user of Windows 8.1.

Thanks in advance!

Windows lifecycle fact sheet - Windows Help

The main thing that stops 1/9/2018 is improvements and enhancements. Anything security related stays till 1/10/2023.

And after trying W-10 for a month and switching back to 8.1 I will more than likely stay with 8.1 for a long, long time.:D

Thanks!!!!

Count me in as well.

I had been on Win7 for several years now and compared to Win8.1, all I can say is that Win8.1 is SUPER FASTER than Win7.
Even at my work, we are all running Win7 with 8GB of RAM and all the machines there are very sluggish on Win7...
Win8.1 is much faster. Programs install much faster. Everything seems faster on Win8.1 compared to Win7.
I got used to the Start screen within minutes!!!! :) It was really a no big deal. I am used to it by now.
